Paoloni Wines Nebbiolo Valle de Guadelupe Mexico 2016

Made by Italian born Paolo Paoloni, who now lives in Mexico, this Nebbiolo has little resemblance to the greats from Piedmont, but the wine is downright well made and delicious.  Grown in the Valle de Guadalupe region in northern Baja California, the flavors are dark, rich and heavy with noticeable oak and dusty fruits. The organic farming highlights the sandy soils and the overall cellar-like aromas of the grape. The wine is plush, savory and smooth, but there is an unbridled quality to it that keeps the palate alert.
