Olga Raffault Chinon “Les Picasses” 2015

Les Picasses is the most famous Chinon lieu-dit; a slope with full southern exposure and chalky clay-limestone soils, the combination resulting in fully ripened, structured wines.  The wine is aged for 2-3 years in oak and chestnut foudres adding a slight grittiness to the extra bright fruit.  Cherry, raspberry, violets, and herbs keep any green pepper notes vibrant and fresh. A great delicate expression from one of the riper vintages in Chinon.
