Drive west out of Napa, climb up Mt Veeder and you'll discover "Ruhl Vineyard" above the fog-line and looking down on the Carneros. Cool climate and lots of sun makes for a Chardonnay with both richness and healthy acidity. Smell and taste pineapple cake, baked apples, caramel, peaches, and clover honey drizzled over wheat toast. 15% ML, 10% new French oak. 288 cases.

McGah Family Scarlett Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford 2015 - $23
From the McGah Family's vineyard on Silverado Trail in Rutherford (heart of the Valley). Fruit forward, juicy, happy wine with ample tropical, orchard, melon, and citrus fruit flavors. Fermented dry with loads of ripe fruit and the right the right amount of acidity to perk it up. Splash of Semillon added for depth, body, and aromatics. Barrel ferment, aged in tank & barrel.

55% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon from "Ryan's Vineyard" on Big Ranch Road. 25% Ribolla Gialla, 5% Tocai Friulano from "Vare," on Dry Creek Road, NW corner of Napa. This wine has quickly become one of Napa Valley’s treasures. Lower alcohol, lightly floral, citrus, tropical and stone fruit-driven, medium-bodied, refreshing acidity, kiss of “minerality” and great with fish and lighter fare.

Alma de Cattleya Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2016 - $27
Alma de Cattleya is the 2nd label of Bibiana Gonzalez Rave, rising (super) star in California winemaking circles. Fruit takes the lead in this young, ready-to-go Pinot. The Clif Family "The Climber" 2015 - $38
This blend of 53% Merlot from Stags Leap District, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain was aged 20 months in new/once used barrels. On the darker side for a half and half blend. Get ripe black plums, blackberries, dark cherries, cigar box, baking spices, and a savory note on the 10+ second finish.

C Beck Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2014 - $50
The C is for Corey: Corey Beck, Owner/Winemaker. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from "Barlow Vineyard" on Silverado Trail, Calistoga. Deep, dark berry/cherry fruit, mineral, leather and tobacco notes, black currants and kirsch, all framed by toasty French oak (half new). Low acid, with a core of ripe fruit. Nicely balanced.
