Monchhof Riesling Urziger "Wurzgarter" Kabinett, Mosel 2014

Great Mosel Valley producer from the "spicy" (Spice-garden) Wurzgarten vineyard. Bracing acidity from start to finish yet still keeps a (precarious) balance of fruit and crunchy earth with the tang. Lemons, slate, citrus zest, Macintosh apples, kiwi. Like a jump in a cool lake, it's stunning for just a second, then you get used to it an enjoy.
