Michel Juillot Mercurey Rouge 2016

The Côte Chalonnaise is one of Burgundies best kept secrets for value. Michel is a fourth generation vigneron who’s great-grandfather helped to develop the boundaries for Mercurey, so he kind of knows his way around the region. The “Le Meix Juillot” is 100% de-stemmed and spends 18 months in 50% new oak. There is a rich, warm, umami flavor with baked plum and black cherry. More scents and flavors of savory fruit, light caraway, and mushroom with a dry finsh.
