Michel Gros Hautes Cotes du Nuits 2015

In 1810 the Gros family set up in Vosne-Romanée and the whole family continues to tend the land and make the wine. This Burgundy, though not from a single vineyard, speaks terroir fluently. To smell and taste this is to be transported to the middle of the vineyards. Aromas of mushrooms, meat, soil, dark cherries, thyme, Santa Rosa plums and a light reductive quality. The palate is elegant and the finish has intense minerality complimented by oak.
