Mayacamas Merlot Mt Veeder Napa 2014

A Merlot that will eclipse most Napa Cabernet at the same price. The wine spends a total of 30 months in neutral oak foudre and barrels, softening slowly before bottling. Red fruits are balanced out by savory notes and textbook mountain fruit tannins. Medium bodied with fresh plum jam and black tea with bright acidity and elegant structure that should allow it to age for a couple of decades.
