Matteo Correggia Roero 2016

Matteo Correggia was instrumental in establishing Roero as a DOCG. He died in 2001, and his widow and son have continued the great work. This is astonishing value for Nebbiolo, everything you expect from the grape with a pretty nose of red fruits, tar, leather, violet, and spices, and a palate that’s chewy, tannic, and mouthfilling. Intense and concentrated with a serious edge, this holds its own against more illustrious and expensive neighboring wines.
