The wine for this very drinkable vermouth is made from Mencia grapes grown in Bierzo. From a recipe dating back to 1880, the wine is macerated for 18 months with herbs, spices, and citrus peel for a gentle integration. A deep brown color, but surprisingly fresh and lively on the palate with aromas of mint, anise, cloves, ginger, sage, saffron, orange peel, and forest floor. Delicious drunk neat and chilled, or served on ice with orange peel.
