Martinelli Zinfandel "Jackass Vineyard" Russian River Valley 2014

Jackass vines planted in the early to mid 1880s. Still producing amazing Zin grapes for this benchmark California Zinfandel. Shows purity of Zin fruit (black raspberry & blueberry jam) + old vine Zin flavors of dry-aged beef, smoked herbs, licorice, soy sauce and fire pit smoke. Powerful, but not "too much." Have it with top-notch real barbecue. "Absolutely ravishingly rich, extravagantly full-bodied and unctuously textured, with notes of charcuterie, barbecue meats, smoke, herbs, blackberry, cassis and a finish that just oozes over the palate with no hard edges.
