Marchesi di Gresy Monferrato Rosso 2012
From one of the great Barbaresco producers comes this Merlot that’s seen plenty of barrel and bottle ageing. From 2012, it has mature aromas of earth, game, dried fruits, dried herbs, and leather, but it’s still extremely fresh with aromas of red plum and licorice, as well as firm tannins and high acidity on the palate. A quietly sophisticated wine that at this quality and at this age should cost much more.
