Maison Roche de Bellene Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 2016

Maison de Roche de Bellene is a new micro-négociant by highly-regarded winemaker, Nicolas Potel, focusing on sourcing fruit from old vines which are either biodynamic or sustainably farmed. This Gevrey-Chambertin was bottled on a “fruit day” and that vibrant ripe fruitiness comes through on the meaty, earthy, spicy palate lifted by fresh acidity. Just 20% new French oak lends a tannic structure to the beautifully integrated fruits.
