Luigi Giordano Asili Barbaresco 2015
Barolo often gets much of the credit for great Nebbiolo, but Barbaresco should not be overlooked. The famed Asili vineyard turns out elegant and seductive wines year after year. The southwest facing slopes give us a wine with meaty flavors of prosciutto, tar, roses, and spices. The body of the wine is light and delicate with a subtle power and depth. The wine is so beautiful now, but it should peel back additional layers for near term aging.
