Amaro Lucano was created in 1894 when a pastry chef macerated more than 30 herbs to create a bitter, sweet and herbaceous digestif. That secret blend was passed down through the family and continues to this day... only the family Patriarch knows the exact recipe. Lucano is considered a "medium" amaro: not as bitter as Fernet, this provides an even balance of sweetness, citrus and bitterness.
