Little Frances Semillon Luchsinger Vineyard Lake County 2014

Winemaker Erin Pooley (her middle name is Frances and she’s not the tallest) is from Sydney, near Hunter Valley where extraordinarily distinctive Sémillon is made. Taking inspiration from her homeland, she picks early to ensure high acidity and low alcohol (just 10.9%). From 2014, this is beginning to develop Sémillon complexity, with aromas of smoke, biscuit, toast, and a touch of spice, alongside a subtly waxy texture. A wine to follow.
