“COTEAUX CHAMPENOIS”

Move over white Burgundy, there are wines of similar ilk making splashes in a way that only one location in the world can, Coteaux Champenois covers (pretty much) the same area as Champagne, but the wines are not sparkling. Extremely minerally with limestone and crushed oyster shells, the grape is merely a vessel which transports the vineyard to the glass. A touch of toastiness from 12 months in barrels broadens the shoulders, but this is all minerals.
