Verdelho is a Portuguese grape that maintains its acidity in a warm climate, so it’s perfect for Lodi, where it’s planted in Vista Luna vineyard which has volcanic soils on rolling hills. The wine spends 6 months lees ageing in neutral oak for a rich, creamy, nutty nose and a slightly chewy palate balanced by high acidity, an oily texture, and aromas of green apples, lemon peel, and grapefruit. A very versatile food wine for a range of dishes like salads, fish, or white meat.
