Le Rocher des Violettes "Touche-Mitaine" Montlouis-sur-Loire 2017

Xavier Weisskopf is a young, up-and-coming Loire winemaker producing fantastic wine. Based in Montlouis, he farms organically from vines planted on limestone soils back in 1979. Texture rather than fruitiness is key to his winemaking style, resulting in a wine that’s floral, aromatic, and pretty, with a dry, grainy, acidic palate and a gentle nuttiness from 6 months lees ageing. A great expression of Chenin Blanc.
