Le Rocher des Violettes Montlouis-sur-Loire “Touche-Mitaine” 2019

Sourced from a single organic 4-hectare parcel with a top layer of clay and silex covering pure chalk.  Aging in 5-10 -year-old barrels and large foudre preserve the vineyards earthy expression.  Good ole wooly Chenin Blanc with baked yellow apples, wet river rocks, marigolds, bees-wax candles and dusty concrete. Everything about this is regionally and varietally correct, right down to the electric, salty acidity.
