Le Ragnaie Rosso di Montalcino 2018

Le Ragnaie farms the highest altitude vines in all of Montalcino with the Rosso di Montalcino coming from a single vineyard site that is technically a Brunello that sees one year less of oak aging.  The lighter color does not indicate a lighter wine; baking spices, dried cherries, herbs, roses, and something savory.  The wine is packed with energy and has the structure to age for more than a few years.  Bright acid, medium tannins, and a lot of lift that translates to a kind of youthful exuberance.
