Satèn means silk in Italian, referring to the very smooth, slightly lighter style of sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay in Franciacorta. There’s still a lot of structure and depth to this 2012 vintage, which was aged on its lees for 30 months. A light, gentle texture is filled out by aromas of peach, pear, lemon zest, roasted almonds, toast, and a touch of cinnamon. Classy.
