Vines dating back to 1916 planted on steep, rocky slopes give the wine an extra concentration and a great balance between tannins and acidity. The grapes are partially destemmed, go through semi-carbonic maceration, and are aged in old oak foudres. A smoky nose, with ripe strawberries, red cherries, violets, licorice, sage, and tarragon. 2015 is a voluptuous vintage – there’s a perfect balance here between freshness and ripeness.
