La Rioja Alta Gran Reserva 904 Rioja 2009

90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano. One of the classic, historical Rioja producers – this wine is named after its first vintage in 1904 – who follow the traditional practice of ageing in American oak, 4 years in this case. This is an intense, concentrated wine, with bright red fruits, aromas of dill, tobacco, coconut, cloves, and nutmeg, followed on the palate by lightly chewy tannins, dill, and a long, elegant finish. Traditional Rioja at its finest.
