La Miraja Grignolino d'Asti 2018
With a name translated from the local Piemonte dialect as “many pips” what else would you expect from the Grignolino grape? The hard part is to balance those tannin producing seeds and Eugenio Gatto does a splendid job. The color is light and deceiving as great concentration and depth is preceded by raspberry, dried cranberry and cherry. The red fruits match well with savory notes of baking spices, forest floor and mushrooms.
