Kongsgaard Albarino Napa Valley 2019

Kongsgaard is famous for their Chardonnay for good reason, but they also make an Albariño using grapes out of the famed Hudson Vineyard in Carneros, and this wine has developed quite an underground following.  The varietal indicators are all here in the wine with minerally citrus notes, salty acidity, apple, and crushed rocks.  The mid palate has the California plushness from spending time in old Chardonnay barrels, but the zippy character still shines through.
