50% Grenache, 32% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre. Vineyard is on the crest of the Mayacamas mountain range, Sonoma side. Southwest facing vineyard. "Looks like Mars there," says co-owner/winemaker Helen Keplinger. Smell and taste black cherry liqueur, cocoa, dark strawberry, peppercorns, anise, allspice, meat. Sweet and savory in harmony. Part whole cluster ferment, part co-ferment, 25% new French oak, 225 cases made.
