Sourced from 87% Estate fruit on Spring Mountain in the rocky hillside soils; 13% from the cool vineyards of Carneros. We dare you to curse at this Merlot! 18 months of oak, 1/3 new, give this wine the Cabernet treatment it deserves. The resulting wine shows intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry, cedar box, plum, and cassis. Complex nuances of cocoa and coffee bean emerge as the wine opens up. This is a “big” Merlot that will age for many years to come.
