Karl Erbes Urziger in der Kranklei Riesling Auslese 2015

This delicious Auslese comes from a particularly steep part of the Würzgarten vineyard with a ridiculous gradient of 75⁰. One can only imagine the labor of love required to work such a steep, stony slope – but it’s worth it. Sometimes an Auslese can be too lush but the plot’s perfect aspect keeps everything together: rich, sweet, and unctuous, balanced by a razor-sharp acidity, with honey, pineapple, dried apricots, and marmalade.
