Julien Pilon Viognier "Mon grand-père était limonadier" VDP 2018

Less flowers and more baked flan, baked fruits, caramel and dried apricots.  Don’t let the Vin de Pays classification scare you, the terroir is real.  There is a great balance of traditional Viognier texture, grippy minerals, orange pith, pears, marigold, and a little vanilla.  This shows the full spectrum of the grape in one wine, pulling aspects of its fatness, floral-like qualities, fruitiness, and earthiness. There are endless food pairing possibilities for this wine.
