50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Petit Verdot, 10% Merlot. Pronounced smells and flavors of blackberries, black currants, bittersweet chocolate, espresso and a walk in the forest. Medium bodied, softer tannins, long finish of black cherry, dry aged beef and cocoa. It's got a little "umami" thing going on. We suggest you drink this as you would a stronger Merlot. Have with roast rack of lamb and beef stew full of slow-cooked onions and root vegetables. GRIS-GRIS: A voodoo amulet originating in Africa which is believed to protect the wearer from evil or brings luck. Joseph Kent owner/winemaker Kent Jarman is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where the Gris-Gris is often used for bad spirit protection.
