We tasted this new project not knowing what to expect – it took five seconds to decide to bring it into the shop, and that was before we saw the price. A very attractive nose of roses, violets, strawberries, raspberries, cracked black pepper, vanilla, and licorice leads into a structured palate with dry, gripping tannins and integrated oak. Long, long finish. Russian River at its most appealing and complex.
