Jolie Laide Pinot Gris 2018

Any French grape with gris in its name has pink skins, so it's natural to have some color to the wine if there's any skin contact. That's exactly what Scott Schultz does with this Pinot Gris from an old vineyard in Calveras County east of Sacramento. It's vivid pink in color, almost like a rosé, with a fruity nose of peaches, redcurrants, and strawberries, followed by a mineral, lightly tannic palate with some grip. This is where white wine meets red.
