J.L. Chave Selection Saint Joseph "Offerus" 2013
SKU
OOS-174_1
Originally all purchased grapes, Offerus is now over half-owned and farmed Saint Joseph (Syrah) by the Chave family. Heady nose of black pepper, anise, light smoke and blueberry essence. Taste is a lovely marriage of fruit, spice and earth. Fine expression of the Northern Rhone, but not "over the top" in its Syrah-ness. Gentle tannins, medium acidity. Drink anytime.
"Heady aromas of raspberry liqueur, cola, potpourri and smoky bacon are lifted by a vibrant mineral quality. Deep-pitched red fruit and violet pastille flavors stain the palate and become sweeter and more lively with air. Silky, focused and very nicely balanced, with excellent finishing thrust; silky, even tannins add grip." Antonio Galloni for Vinous
