Jim Barry Assyrtiko Clare Valley 2017

Jim Barry’s son Peter was on holiday on the Greek island of Santorini ten years ago and fell in love with the local Assyrtiko grape. He took cuttings, exported them to Australia, and planted them in Clare Valley for the country’s first ever Assyrtiko wine. His passion has been rewarded because this is an exceptional wine, with cutting acidity and a stony, steely mouthfeel, with a touch of earth and tart green and citrus fruits.
