“Bourgogne Rouge” doesn’t quite do this wine justice. Made by Alix Millot, a young, dynamic winemaker who has transformed her father’s winery into one of the best in Côte de Nuits. The vineyard is across the road from the Nuits-St-Georges appellation, and this tastes like the very best of that village. Spicy, with ripe raspberries, cherries, and blackberries, rich but balanced by high acidity and firm, gripping tannins. An expressive wine that has a long life ahead of it – drink now-2030.
