Jean Francois Merieau "Le Bois Jacou" Gamay Touraine 2016

One of the best kept secrets of the Loire Valley is Gamay, and this is a perfect example of how it produces light, inviting wines in the cool climate. A little different than Beaujolais – not quite as fruity, a bit more tense and nervy on the palate. It’s delicate and floral, with a nice grainy mouthfeel and subtle red fruits of strawberry and raspberry. A deliciously quiet wine which will speak more as you drink it.
