Jean Fournier Bourgogne Blanc 2014
Fournier are a Marsannay family dating back to the seventeenth century. That heritage is reflected in this blend of Pinots Blanc and Gris, two varieties that predate Chardonnay in Burgundy. A floral nose, with aromas of green apples, pears, and lemons, followed by a really crisp, fresh, acidic palate, with a gripping mineral texture to balance the rich creaminess. This is 2014, so there’s also some nutty maturity.
