Paul Jaboulet's first vineyard""purchased in 1834. 60-80 year old vines, farmed biodynamic. A couple of years older than most, 2010 vintage benefits from extra bottle time. Pure expression of Northern Rhone: smoky berries, black pepper, olive tapenade, bacon fat. Time has tamed some of the characteristic Crozes rusticity, but it's still a bit rough around the edges.
