J Rickards Winery Zinfandel "1908 Brignole Vineyard - Old Vine" Alexander Valley 2015

Vineyard planted in 1908 by the Brignole family, among the original co-op members of the Asti Italian-Swiss Colony. Field blend of mostly Zinfandel (90%ish) with a sprinkling of Petite Sirah, Carignane, Mataro, others. Bold, dark and intense, taste dried black cherries and plums, smoke and toasty vanilla. Dense and brooding for a Zinfandel.
