Hourglass "HGIII" Napa Valley Red Wine 2017

Multiple layers of fruit are coaxed out of the glass by winemaker Tony Biagi. Mostly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. This is very much a bordeaux style wine with earthy notes of leather, wet leaves, and forest floor. Dark fruits, dark chocolate, figs and fine tannins allow this wine to show its depth and concentration. This is a big wine that can stand up to big food, but its silky smooth texture allows it to hold its own all by itself.
