From the warmer, eastern edge of Santa Rita Hills and vines grown from budwood brought in from Côte-Rôtie. This is a classy, elegant Syrah, which combines the fruitiness of California with the restraint of the northern Rhône. Ripe blackberries on the nose as well as rose petals, black pepper, and licorice lead into a palate with fresh acidity and grainy, gripping tannins. This wine shows both the serious and giving sides of Syrah.
