HLR Estate Merlot Fountain Grove AVA 2018

A Merlot that uses the Cabernet Sauvignon technique of blending in smaller amounts of other grapes to make an exceptional finished product. 77% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petit Verdot make a soulful wine of velvet and depth.  Dark plums, blackberry, cassis, leather, and smoke show a side of Merlot which proves its place as a noble grape. The fruit is bright with underlying barrel notes of cedar box, butterscotch and herb dusted cherries.
