Guillaume Gilles Cornas 2012

New Cornas producer Guillaume Gilles follows traditional winemaking practices in Cornas. Hillside Syrah growing in granite, limestone and clay. Whole cluster ferment, moderate use of oak. Yet, there is a soft, friendly quality to the usually savage Cornas with Gilles' wines. Baby powder perfume, berry liqueur, anise, soy, game. Tight on the mid palate but stille there's lots to enjoy now. Best from 2025-2030.
