Giornata Aglianico "French Camp Vineyard" Paso Robles 2014
Giornata: tiny winery, husband/wife owned/made (from dirt to bottle), specializing in Italian varieties. This is Aglianico, a grape most seen in Campania & Basilicata, southern Italy. These grapes grow in one of the hottest parts of Paso Robles. The grape likes the heat...takes a long time to ripen. Think Syrah from moderate climate: blackberries, lavender, dried orange peel, black pepper, dried plums. Medium body, perfumed. A roast leg of lamb wine.
