Gather Decimo Shaker Ridge Tempranillo 2014

Local winemaker Jessica Tarpy buys grapes from the well-regarded Shaker Ridge vineyard in El Dorado, up in the Sierra Foothills. She blends 95% Tempranillo with 5% Graciano, much like they do in Rioja, and made all of 6 barrels. An array of roses, earth, and spice greet you on the nose with ripe, round red fruits, leading to a medium bodied, crisply tannic wine, which is long, complex, and ageworthy. A great food wine!
