G. D. Vajra "Coste & Fossato" Dolcetto d'Alba 2016

Vajra’s top Dolcetto bottling, from vines planted in 1978 and ’85 on two vineyards, Coste and Fossato, at around 400m elevation. This is as good as Dolcetto gets, the floral, aromatic nose inviting you into a palate that’s got a really serious, ageworthy structure with a great tannic grip, chewy red fruits, and a minty, spicy mouthfeel. An elegant, balanced, complex wine that’s great with food now and with plenty of life ahead of it.
