Fontanel Grenache Blanc Rivasaltes 2007

Rivesaltes is one of the classic villages for Vins Doux Naturels, made in a wide range of styles. This is 100% Grenache Blanc, from 60-year-old vines, aged for 7 years in small oak casks on its lees. That long ageing exposes the wine to oxygen turning it an amber – or ambré – color and giving it aromas of nuts, dried apricots, orange peel, marmalade, caramel, crême brûlée, brown sugar, and toffee. Perfect with cheese and nutty desserts.
