Flotsam & Jetsam Old Vine Cinsault Western Cape South Africa 2017

Made by top South African winemaker Chris Alheit, this is an immediately rewarding medium-bodied red wine. There used to be a lot of Cinsault planted in the country due to its high yields. There are now some old vines left over that produce wines with more depth like this one. It’s very fresh on the nose, with aromas of rose petals, raspberry, red cherry, and dried herbs, followed by a grainy palate with high acidity. Light, fun, but concentrated.
