The quality of white wine in Portugal has risen exponentially in recent years, especially in the hands of young winemakers like Filipa Pato. The grapes are Arinto, one of the country’s best with high acidity and a gripping texture, and Bical, which offers more aromatics. A fresh, interesting nose of green apples, lemons, grapefruits, honeysuckle, and jasmine. With vibrant acidity on the palate, it’s lightly spicy and saline with a gentle creaminess.
