Ferdinand Rose of Carignan California 2018

100% Carignan from an old vineyard in Lodi, planted in the 1950s. Fermented with native yeast, this is a very smooth, pleasingly complex rosé. Very pale in appearance, there’s an engaging fruitiness to the wine, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry, as well as rose petals, cinnamon, and licorice. Very refreshing on the palate, with a long, subtle finish. Just 42 cases made.
